Celebrating Friendship & Tradition

Alongside the meals after regular Lodge meetings, our Lodge of Instruction hosts a festive Christmas dinner each December, exploring local restaurants near our meeting places.

Ladies Festivals are a cherished tradition, allowing us to thank our wives and partners for their support and raise funds for the Master's chosen charity. Members and guests from all Lodges are warmly welcomed.

For many years, the Royal Leopold Lodge celebrated at the Frascati Restaurant in Oxford Street, W1, until its closure in the mid-1950s. We then enjoyed venues such as The Rembrandt (SW7), The Bonnington Hotel (Southampton Row), The Connaught Rooms, and later, the Elizabeth Suite in Barrington House, Gresham Street, EC2.

In the 1990s, our Ladies Festivals evolved into weekend getaways, offering members and guests a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Bournemouth became a favorite destination, known for its excellent hotels, shopping, and attractions.

Recently, we've returned to the Ocean View Hotel (formerly Chesterwood), where the staff and management make every stay memorable.

A Typical Festival Weekend:
  • Friday: Arrival and four-course evening dinner
  • Saturday: Breakfast, followed by evening festivities from 6pm
  • Sunday: Breakfast and a hot/cold Sunday lunch (all inclusive)

Extra nights are available at special rates for those wishing to extend their stay.
